Write the question and answer the following questions on a separate sheet of paper:

• What does "correcting entry" mean?
• If an accounting error is made, what source document do you use to describe the correction?
• How do you correct an error that you posted to the wrong account?
• How do you correct an incorrect amount posted in an account?
• How do you correct an amount posted to the wrong column?

Complete the case study (attached). You may need to print a copy for each student, or they can complete the activity with partners.
